Courtney (Steiner) Longenecker grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and went to college in central Ohio (BA, History– Denison University). She is a third-generation Realtor® - so real estate is in her blood! Courtney’s grandfather, Eugene, founded a small real estate brokerage in 1960 serving the metropolitan Indianapolis area. Eugene was a revered figurehead in the Indianapolis real estate community for more than 60 years. Courtney’s mother, Jane Ann, has been a Realtor® in Indianapolis for over 40 years. Courtney remembers touring houses and “working” open houses (aka – eating all the cookies) with her mom growing up.
After graduating from college with a thirst for travel and adventure, Courtney accepted a job onboard luxury cruise ships. Courtney travelled the world (40+ countries) for 3 years working onboard Carnival, Princess, and Celebrity Cruise Lines as a Principal Art Auctioneer. You should ask her about this job - she will tell you that 1.) she absorbed countless new skills and important life lessons in those three years, 2.) she worked her TAIL off, everyday, and 3.) ABSOLUTELY would NOT trade those years for the world!
Then, Courtney received a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity and moved to Manhattan, New York City, where she dove head-first into a real estate career. For 4 years, Courtney worked for a major NYC real estate developer - managing every aspect of the sales and marketing efforts for a $400 million ultra-luxury condominium tower located 2 blocks north of the World Trade Center. With this job, Courtney learned to be assertive, cunning, and business-saavy as she collaborated with numerous top-caliber professionals in real estate construction, sales, marketing, fundraising, social media, public relations, and advertising. In Manhattan’s competitive and unforgiving work environment, Courtney received a crash-course, sink-or-swim education in ALL THINGS real estate.
How did Courtney end up in Lancaster after living all over the world? She married a Lititz-native, Billy, and was immediately drawn to life in Lancaster County. While living and working in NYC, Courtney’s dream was to one day move to Lancaster, PA – a dream she achieved in 2018! She considers moving to Lancaster one of the BEST decisions of her life! Courtney loves and appreciates the beautiful landscapes, friendly people, excellent food, and warm community of Lancaster County.
Courtney and her husband Billy live in Chestnut Hill, Lancaster City. You will frequently find her playing competitive tennis, attending fitness classes, trying the latest restaurants/coffee shops, or visiting Beau’s Dream Dog Park in Buchannan Park with her sweet Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, Nara.
